Charity Clay Shoot

A clay shoot and silent auction to raise money for Cancer Charities in North Yorkshire

The auction and clay shoot is to raise some money for Cancer charities.  Cancer has affected lots of people but it hurts even more when it affects people we know.  A  few of us 'Gamekeeper type chaps' have decided to organize the above.  

The clay shoot will be held in Spaunton Quarry just off the A170 (access off the Appleton le Moors road) by kind permission of Mr George Winn-Darley.

 

It will start at 10.30 am on Saturday 29th May 2010. It will be a 50 bird sporting shoot, a 70 bird teams of 3 man pheasant flush and a pool shoot, a special classes for ladies and novices. Cartridges, refreshments including BBQ and hogg roast will be available on the day.

 Prizes and sponsorship needed. Can you offer anything from a bottle of wine to a combine harvester!  Silent auction will be held between now and 4pm on the day of the clay shoot.  Enclosed is a flavour of what we have to auction so far. We are always looking for more lots so please think hard and see if you could kindly offer another lot to add to the list or even get a bid in for what is already available.All monies raised with go directly to the Cancer charities so please circulate this to your friends to drum up some interest and put the date in your diary. 

The lots so far are:-1) A days driven grouse shooting for 1 gun at Commondale, N. Yorks exp 50-100 brace   (donated by Mr Mark Cran)2) 250 pheasant poults (donated by Mr Pete Simpson-Gillamoor Game) 3) Roe buck stalking at Huttons Ambo (keep the carcase) (donated by Mr Ed        Harland)4) A fresh butchered lamb (donated by Mr George Proud) 5) A days decorating (30 mile radius of Commondale) (donated by Mr Glen Brookes) 6) 2 days salmon fishing at Warwick Hall – River Eden-Fri & Sat could share a rod(donated by Mr Charlie Alderson)     7) 1 days salmon and sea trout fishing with instructor on the Esk at Egton(donated by Mr Ollie Foster)8) A day for 4 spectators partridge hawking with peregrines (South Durham)(donated  by Mr Ralph Watt)9) A goose flight for 2 guns at Scaling damn near Whitby keep the Geese (donated   by Mr Eddie Roe)10) 2 rods trout fishing on the River Derwent near Scarborough (donated by Mr Pete Hargreaves) PLUS LOTS MORE (54 SO FAR)
