Surrey & Sussex Members Meeting

24th March 2010

Brinsbury College on 24th March at 7.30pm - To elect a new regional chairman

Dear Surrey/Sussex members,
I am arranging a meeting at Brinsbury College on 24th March at 7.30pm.

As no doubt some of you know, I have been heavily involved with all NGO deer related matters over the past few years. This has culminated in the formation of a new deer branch, which I now chair. At our last regional meeting I indicated that I wished to retire as regional chair, simply not having the time to give to a branch that requires a robust input. In the absence of any volunteers at what were two pathetic turnouts, I have remained as chair, but given the region no input.
I simply do not have the time to donate to this position, the deer branch with all its committees, meetings and various other time consuming activities is more than enough. It is my firm intention to seek a replacement at this forthcoming meeting, we are a heavily Keepered region, surely someone will donate the time that this position deserves.  With this in mind, I enclose a nomination form for keeper members only which should be completed and returned to the NGO head office by no later than Friday, 5th February 2010.  Please remember that only Keeper members are eligible to nominate and be nominated.

I have been involved with the NGO from the very beginning, one of the five founder members, it is now time to go fishing a little more often, have a few evenings when the phone does not ring with a member on the other end. There has to be some fresh blood out there, young or old, who will take over.

I am stepping down from the regional chair on the 24th and from all NGO involvement within the next twelve months, we urgently need a new regional chair, surely someone among you will step up! Regards DAVID WHITBYRegional ChairmanSurrey/Sussex
