Gamekeepers Welcome Shoot Survey
29 September 2006
The National Gamekeepers' Organisation has welcomed a new national survey which reveals that shooting is worth £1.6 billion to the UK economy and sustains 70,000 jobs.
The survey, commissioned by a partnership of shooting and countryside organisations, was conducted by PACEC, an independent and respected firm of research consultants. Members of the NGO were included in postal questionnaires and face to face interviews.
"Gamekeepers have always known the extent and the value of what they do for conservation and the economic well-being of the countryside but this survey proves the point to the world at large," said Ken Butler, NGO Chairman.
