FMD Restrictions Lifted

4 November 2007

Nearly all the restrictions imposed following the Foot and Mouth outbreak in Surrey during September have now been lifted.

Gamekeepers are nonetheless still urged to keep biosecurity at the forefront of their minds and to keep up to date by following news bulletins, this website and the Defra website: http://www.defra.gov.uk/.

Deer are vulnerable to FMD and anything suspicious in wild deer should still be reported to Defra via the Divisional Veterinary Manager.

The Defra helpline is on 08459 33 55 77.
