Bird Flu: Outbreak Over

The outbreak of H5N1 bird flu in Dorset is now officially over. All restrictions and zones were lifted by Order on 27 March.
Notes
H5N1 bird flu was first found in wild swans near Abbotsbury in south Dorset at the turn of the year. Sporadic cases in swans and one Canada goose were found therafter. This was the first ever outbreak of the disease in wild birds in England and it was being managed by Defra in accordance with EU law.
