Lead Ammunition and the NGO

The National Gamekeepers' Organisation has confirmed that it was not invited to serve on the Lead Ammunition Group, formed recently under the Chairmanship of BASC's John Swift and with a secretariat provided by Defra.

Lindsay Waddell, the NGO Chairman said:

"When we heard that moves were afoot to form such a group, we formally expressed a desire to be part of it in order to represent the interests of our members. In the event we were not included. Having now seen the composition of the Group, we feel that our members' interests may actually be better served by being on the outside, from where we can comment without restriction on this very important issue."
