Following changes to the CRRU UK Code of Best Practice, training is no longer acceptable evidence of competence for the purchase of professional rodenticide. 

People who wish to gain proof of competence will now need to pass a regulated qualification such as the Lantra Awards Level 2 Award in Rodent Management.

 

The course is run over one day and has a written final assessment at the end, this is an open book multiple choice exam. Upon completion you will receive an Ofqual accredited certificate.

 

The Learning outcomes for this qualification are:

• Understand the legislative requirements for rodent pest management 
• Understand the reasons for control
• Understand Integrated Pest Management (IPM)
• Understand the biology and behaviour for a specific range of rodent pests
• Understand how to survey to assess the level of rodent infestation
• Understand how to apply an eradication campaign for the specific active rodent species
• Understand the control risk hierarchy for the control of rodent pests
• Understand how to monitor on an ongoing basis to manage future rodent activity
