Prestigious trophy awarded to a rising star of gamekeeping at the British Shooting Show

The winner of the Frank Jenkins Memorial Trophy 2024 is Jake Bennett.

Jake Bennett lives in Hampshire where he in on course at Sparsholt College, however his home is in Cornwall. Jake has dreamt of being a gamekeeper since he was very young and spent many weeks volunteering with local shoots.

The first college course Jake attended was cancelled after the first year and so, undeterred, he had to find another course. This meant moving 140 miles away from home.

Jake has not just shown determination, but is also aware of the contentious issues that exist around gamekeeping and he hopes to bring new ideas to the sector to sustain it for as long as possible.

We hope that the NGO will be able to advantage of Jake, his ideas and his passion – as well as that of numerous other young keeper in the sector – and harness it to secure the future of keeping and land management.

These people are our future. Thank you for choosing gamekeeping and we hope we can support Jake and his peers in their careers going forward.
