The National Gamekeepers’ Organisation would like to remind its Gamekeeper and Supporter members that subscription rates rose by five pounds from £40 per year to £45 on 1 January 2018. This is the first increase in the NGO subscription fee since 2013. Subscriptions for the Family Membership and Trade & Corporate Membership categories remain unchanged.
Liam Bell, the Chairman of the National Gamekeepers’ Organisation, said: “The NGO National Committee has been determined to keep subscriptions at the same level for members for as long as possible. Indeed, the last time the NGO membership fee rose was in 2013, some four years ago. But with inflation being on the up as well as hikes in the cost of many goods and services, the committee felt a planned, modest rise in our membership rate was appropriate and sensible. This subscription increase will ensure the NGO remains at the forefront of the defence and promotion of keepers and keepering, while continuing to offer excellent value for money to members, not least through our upgraded insurance package.
“This is a moment in history when gamekeeping, gameshooting and our way of life are under threat as almost never before, and the NGO works hard to make sure the voice of our members is heard in the corridors of power whenever keepering, and the management techniques so vital to our jobs, come under legislative scrutiny in England and Wales. So much so that politicians themselves tell us that the NGO is uniquely placed to ensure the gamekeepers’ viewpoint is listened to.”
