The Lady Scott Award is presented to a partner, spouse, family member or friend, while the GWT Young Gamekeeper of the Year is awarded to those keen young family members, or friends, who give so much to someone in one of the gamekeeping roles, helping perform a range of tasks and learning about the countryside.
Over a decade ago Lady Mary Scott, one of the GWT Trustees, instigated an award to recognise the support, hard work and investment of time people in gamekeeping roles receive from family members and close friends.
It was first presented in 2010 and is still going strong. The Lady Scott Award is presented to a partner, spouse, family member or friend. It’s a wonderful way for someone in a gamekeeping job to value the work someone close to them delivers.
The GWT Young Gamekeeper of the Year is awarded to those keen young family members, or friends, who give so much to someone in one of the gamekeeping roles, helping perform a range of tasks and learning about the countryside.
Recipients are nominated by members of the gamekeeping professions, shoots and estates, and nominations are reviewed by a panel of GWT Trustees.
To nominate someone for a GWT Award, tell us as much as you can about why you feel they deserve recognition. Nominations should be sent by email, WhatsApp or post to the Gamekeepers’ Welfare Trust:
