33 Teams competed in the annual Lancashire and Cumbrian Team clay shoot with the top prize going to Calvert Sporting.

A brilliant day was had by all at the annual team clay shoot held at Crabtree Shooting Ground. A total of 33 teams competed for the top spot and a previous winning team were able to take the top prize for a second year!

The day started overcast but it didn't take long for the cloud to burn off and the sun to appear. Teams travelled from as far south as Staffordshire and from North Northumberland to partake in this fun 4 man team shoot.

Lancashire chairman Don Crutchfield had this to say about the event "Each year this clay shoot gets bigger and bigger which is exactly what we hoped for, we had 33 teams compete with some fantastic sportsmanship and shooting from all of the teams. A big thanks must go out to all of our helpers of the day, without their help this shoot would not be possible, also we have been sponsored by local businesses which covered the costs to put on this shoot which has been excellent.

Peter Jagger, Lancashire chairman went on to Thank Jonty Wightman and his team who again put on a fantastic day with some brilliant targets.

The winning team Calvert Sporting posted a fantastic score of 345 dropping only 5 clays, closely followed by The Checkley Shoot Team posting a score of 341. As well as the team shoot we had an individual competition running parrellel, we had 3 individuals tied on a top score of 39 out of 40; G Stirzaker (Senior), J Palmer (Gamekeeper), and R Holmes (Open) all taking away top prizes.
